The New Uprising

         Uprising Magazine is committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. We value the opportunity to amplify voices and perspectives through our publications. This year we decided to make a few changes in order to better serve our campus and community. Some of these changes include: Diversifying our team of creators and membership, practicing ethical journalism, and prioritizing actionable change. We believe that as a fashion and social justice magazine on campus it is important to take the correct actions to best serve the campus of UNI and the surrounding community and to acknowledge that we can do better. 
      This year Uprising Magazine has made a lot of changes, such as creating more opportunities for our members within our organization. We’ve revamped our social media platforms and are producing additional content through our new blog. The purpose of the blog is for our followers to gain more insight into what Uprising is all about! Each semester we come up with many topics we want to cover that we unfortunately can’t fit them all into our magazine. Therefore we plan to utilize this blog to showcase talent and get stories, pictures and ideas out to the public through this platform! We wanted to have a chance to connect better with our UNI campus and community and felt that creating these blogs and picking topics that the audience are interested in learning more about  would help us grow as an organization.
     We’re excited to introduce another new feature we have this year that highlights fashion on campus. We want to portray the many different creative styles of the UNI student body. Our goal is for this feature to inspire people to be fashionable on our campus here at UNI. Be on the lookout for us as we will be taking pictures of those showcasing their own styles on campus to highlight on our social media pages! We hope you are excited for these new updates as well as our upcoming issue 10!
